Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Post Closer to join our growing team. As a Post Closer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of closing packages and post-closing documentation. You will collaborate with lenders, title agents, and other stakeholders to finalize transactions efficiently and maintain compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities:
- Examine and verify the accuracy of documentation such as public records, deeds, property title records, property ownership, leases, surveys, contracts, and agreements needed to produce a clear title
- Ensure all closing instructions are followed as per the closing package, and coordinate with loan officer, mortgage loan processor, and underwriter to be sure all underwriting commitments have been satisfied
- Correspond with pre-processor to be sure all items are fulfilled, settlement processor or paralegal to ensure all settlement figures are accurate, and with post-closing agent to ensure the transaction is recorded and any outstanding issues are resolved
- Provide title officers with clerical and data entry support, as well as administrative assistant essential duties
- Enter and submit title and loan documents into software programs to track applicant’s progress
- Review closing packages for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with state, federal, and company regulations
- Verify all executed documents are properly signed, notarized, and dated
- Work with title and escrow teams to resolve any discrepancies or missing documentation
- Ensure timely submission of loan packages to lenders and maintain communication throughout the process
- Prepare and send final title policies and supporting documents to lenders and clients
- Reconcile escrow accounts so escrow officer can disburse funds accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of all post-closing activities and ensure they are stored securely
- Address any post-closing issues that arise and provide prompt resolution
Qualifications:
- Preference is 1-3 years of experience in title processing, real estate transactions, or as a mortgage loan processor or title company pre-processor
- Superb research, communications, customer service, and analysis skills are desired
- Proficient computer skills with numerous programs including MS Office is vital
- Certification as a notary public is not required but is appreciated
- Previous experience in title, escrow, or a related post-closing role
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of title and escrow procedures, including industry regulations and compliance standards
- Proficiency with title and escrow software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
